England U18s coach John Fletcher will be delivering a course on the practical coaching of tactical awareness on Wednesday 31st October at London Welsh.
This FREE session is a must for all rugby coaches, DoRs and club and school heads of youth rugby.
John will look at the practical coaching of tactical awareness “beat the game” using
adaptive games. In the clubhouse John will explore the Magic Academy coach
sharing platform with challenge cards and the “craft of coaching”.
John worked as Head of Academy and then Director of Rugby at Newcastle
Falcons before taking on the England Under 18 Head coach position in
2008. England have reaped the benefits of a productive U18 to U20 to senior
pathway in recent years with John being responsible, with his assistant Peter
Walton, for producing an array of talent including amongst others:

The Middlesex Coaching association offers a FREE online coaching resource which is suitable for those who wish to expand their knowledge and practical coaching skills.
Designed for those coaching minis, youth and senior players, administrators and referees, the online video content includes games, individual and team skills, sevens coaching, kicking and fitness & conditioning. Coaching sessions are led by experienced RFU and Academy coaches and a weekly update is sent covering numerous aspects of rugby coaching.

2018-2019 Coach Mentoring Programme
Applications are now invited to join this season’s Coach Mentoring Programme, run in partnership with Coach & Mentoring Solutions and led by Bob Lawless & Tony Robinson.
The programme is suitable for candidates who are ready to apply for the RFU Level III course in 2018 as well as those who feel they have the potential to apply in 2019 but need a little longer on this journey.
The Middlesex Coaching Association, run in partnership with London Irish Coaching Academy, is committed to developing all coaches within Middlesex by providing a quality coach development programme.
The Association runs eight themed coaching sessions between October and July at locations throughout Middlesex. The sessions are lead by professional Level 3 players, guest coaches and coaches working with academies or elite players. Previous coaches have included Dai Young, Tom Palmer, Richard Thorpe, Rory Teague, Richard Wigglesworth, Ian Vass, Neil Hatley and Simon Cheetham.
Premiership Standard Coach Development
Rugby Coaching Drills (RCD) is an online resource for all aspiring coaches and players who wish to expand their knowledge and practical coaching skills. Membership of the Middlesex Coaching Association offers free unique access to RCD Premiership standard coach development and video content including: 3500+ games, drills, session planning, age grade schemes of work and coaching from RFU trainers.
